Water What You Want to Grow

Journal Entry #007

Every day, whether we realize it or not, we’re watering something.

Some people water excuses.

Some people water distractions.

Some people water fear, doubt, resentment, or the belief that life is happening to them instead of for them.

And just like anything else, those things grow.

The same is true on the other side.

If you water discipline, discipline grows.

If you water consistency, consistency grows.

If you water relationships, they grow stronger.

If you water your business, your craft, your health, your mind, and your future, eventually those things begin to grow too.

The difficult part is that growth rarely happens on your schedule.

You don’t plant a seed on Monday and expect a tree by Friday.

The roots always come before the results.

Most people quit because they’re staring at the surface looking for proof while the real work is happening underground.

A workout doesn’t change your body overnight.

One journal entry doesn’t build a community.

One sale doesn’t build a company.

One conversation doesn’t build a network.

But enough of them do.

The question isn’t whether what you’re building will grow.

The question is whether you’ll continue watering it long enough to find out.

Attention is one of the most valuable resources we have.

Where you place it determines what grows in your life.

Feed your distractions and they’ll get stronger.

Feed your fears and they’ll become louder.

Feed your excuses and they’ll become permanent.

But feed your vision, your discipline, your skills, and your purpose long enough, and eventually they’ll become impossible to ignore.

What you water grows.

Choose carefully.
